Summary of Sadiya Farouq’s Meeting With NSIP Focal Persons on Thursday, September 3, 2020
Sadiya Umar Farouq , the Minister of humanitarian affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development on Thursday, September 3, 2020 met with State NSIP Focal Persons, Program Managers and SOCU Officers to resolve the issue surrounding clamour to find alternative jobs for batch A and B beneficiaries of the programme who have been exited.
Here are the highlights of the meeting:
- Backlogs of exited batch A and B have been sent to the office of the Account General for approval.
- Appealed to focal persons not to let her down
- FG working on how to absorb the exited beneficiaries to other schemes
- The selection process of N-Power batch C ongoing, as such you’re advised to steer clear of fake news about the final list of the batch C on some online platforms
We’ll absorb exited N-Power beneficiaries into new scheme — FG
At the meeting in Abuja, Sadiyya promised that the Federal Government is making plans to absorb the exited N-power beneficiaries into new scheme.
She said: “As we renew our commitment to the service of humanity, I will like to cease this opportunity to once again state that we have successfully exited Batch A and B of the N-Power beneficiaries in June and July respectively and we are still working towards ensuring a transition plan that will further engage or absorb them into other programmes.”
The Chairman of Focal Persons, NSIP, Alhaji Bana Usman in his remarks appreciated the efforts of the Ministry under the leadership of Sadiya Umar Farouq, as he emphasized the impact of NSIP which is currently in place in all parts of the country.
How hope that something good will come out regarding Npower exited beneficiaries outstanding payment and transportation opportunities.
The Abia State NSIP Focal Person stated that it’s the responsibility of all Govts to “hold the hands” of vulnerable persons under their watch while commending President Buhari for providing equal opportunities through NSIP and its direct impacts on vulnerable Nigerians.
Appealed to State NSIP focal coordinators
She appealed to state NSIP focal coordinators to discharge their duties diligently and not let her down.
“It is against this background that I urge every one of you to continue to give in your best to ensure the lives of those we are called to serve are made better.
“We must not lose sight of the fact that each one of the vulnerable persons are not mere numbers or statistics but real people with dreams, hopes, aspirations and a desire to live decent lives in peace and safety,” he submitted.
Federal Government appointed N-power Focal Persons in all the states including FCT in December 2016, but some N-power volunteers up till don’t know their state focal officer.
CAUTION: Volunteers should only call on working days and hours. Please don’t invade their privacy by calling at late hours or when your state focal person is still in bed.
And make sure that you already have N-power verified logo in your NPVN dashboard before you put a call across to your state focal person.
Better still, make sure you play your own part by correcting your N-power details before putting calls across to state focal person.
You must be aware of the fact that they’re not in position to edit your profile for you, in case you have errors in your NPVN PORTAL.
Who are the N-Power State Focal Persons?
Focal persons are FG’s N-power representatives in their state serving as liaison between the N-power headquarters (in Abuja) and the beneficiaries in their state of primary assignment.
“In some states, the Govs picked Commissioners as focal persons, and in some cases the Govs picked Special Advisers or Assistants. We know some states have started deploying indeed”, FG said.
