Close to a decade, Nigeria’s government launched a national database for its millions of citizens, it seems the government is showing a sign of seriousness this time for everyone to get a National Identity Number (NIN), a prelude to the National ID card.
There is at least one enrolment centre at each of the 774 local governments in the country.
Unfortunately, some of the enrolment centres close shops because there is no proper coordination, poor supervision and weak synergy between the FG and the LGAs
In case you want to apply for NIN, the first you need to do is to download the enrolment form, fill it, and take it to the nearest National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) office.

Virtually all the banks in Nigeria are also enrolling customers and non-customers for the NIN registration exercise. Don’t be left out!
