There have been consistent efforts by Nigeria’s government even before independence to create awareness about the government’s programmes and policies. Then came the need to have a dedicated body to manage such awareness creation, thereby leading to the formal establishment of the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
NOA, which is one of the agencies of the Ministry of Information and Culture, has its headquarters located in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
NOA’s core mandate is:
To sensitise and mobilise Nigerian citizens to act in a way to promote peace

Wrapping up:
In one of our articles, we analyse the roles of NOA into 15 key areas, But beyond sensitising Nigerians about government policies and programmes, NOA also supports government agencies and ministries when the need arises.
For instance, NOA supported the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs during the recruitment of N-Power beneficiaries, and applicants were instructed to visit NOA offices in their state.
