Former FIFA World Football Player of the Year George Weah has been declared the winner of the Liberian Presidential Election, and he has taken to Twitter to thank all his supporters, promising to liberate Liberia.
His profile on Wikpedia has been updated as “a Liberian politician, elected president.”
According to Eye Witness News, the African soccer legend won 12 of the 15 counties to become the 25th president of the country.
George Weah, a former AC Milan striker defeated his 73-year-old opponent, Joseph Boakai, who has been the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf vice president for the last 12 years.
Mr Joseph Boakai got only two counties.

Meanwhile, South African President Jacob Zuma has sent his congratulatory message to former the FIFA World Football Player of the Year, George Weah, on his victory in the just concluded run-off Liberian presidential election held on Tuesday.
Eye Witness News, quoted President Zuma has praising Liberians for conducting the presidential run-off in a peaceful manner, saying that it signified another positive step towards deepening democracy in Africa.
