In this post, we’ll tell you what we know about him Yommie (the brain behind eyowo mobile wallet), his education background and other things you probably don’t know about him.
Yomi Adedeji received Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Management of Information Systems with Second Class Upper from, Covenant University ( one of the Best Universities in Nigeria) in 2007. He proceeded to the Stanford University for SEED Program.
He’s also a member of a professional body CMIS .
In 2007 Yomi Adedeji co-founded Softcom Limited, a tech firm that specialises in developing tech roadmaps for corporate organisations like automating operations, developing software applications and devices for firms in large-scale programs that organize and manage education, identity, and payments.
His company Softcom has involved in so many financial technology projects that have simplified how business people can send and receive payment across the African continent.
As the chief pilot of softcom limited, Yomi Adedeji led his team to pioneer some of Africa’s largest technology-focused deployments in addressing various problems for leading telecoms, consumer goods, financial, retail and governmental organizations.
Some of the projects executed by Yomi Adedeji and his tech firm include:
- “Knowing your place in the market” – Trade Visibility Evaluation exercise for MTN and its competition.
- “Enhancing Retail” – Retailer Engagement, Trade and Communication (RETCO) for MTN, which was executed done in partnership with Foxconn and Intel.
- “Improving patient adherence using technology” – Patient Adherence System for a global phameutical company GlaxoSmithKline
- Beyond the classroom – Edusocial (Mobile learning solution which was inclusive of a Learning management system) for his former school Covenant University.
- “Redefining Complaints Management” -Complaints Management Platform for Consumer protection council. This project is expected to decrease incidences of consumer dissatisfaction by 60% by Dec 2019
Yomi Adedeji’s latest project is the development of a mobile money wallet that enables Nigerians send and receive payment by a simple dial of code, while eyowo app is also available for those who have access to the internet.
Yomi Adedeji Personal life:
We can’t tell you much about his personal life at the time of writing this biography, but we do know that he and his team will continue to give birth to another tech breakthrough to solve societal, financial, and educational problems.
We do also know that softcom is technical partners to the Nigeria Federal Government on the N-Power programme, a youth empowerment scheme of the APC-led government.
In August 2019, Softcom organised a conference with the theme: Combating Poverty: Role of Technology in driving social change in Africa. It has in attendance Afolabi Imoukhuede and other top government functionaries.
During the conference he said, “For any development initiative to be successful, we have to first solve the issue of identity.
“This is because a one-to-all approach at solving development issues will make little impact and limit sustainability.
“Individuals function within economic clusters or communities. It is important to take cognisance of these peculiarities in designing an intervention programme,” the Softcom CEO Yomi Adedeji was quoted as saying by the Pulse.ng.
