An agent of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has been arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Benue State.
Report from Benue State confirmed that the APC agent was working for Benue State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Emmanuel Jimeh.
The EFCC, which posted a picture of the seizure, said in a Facebook post that the suspect was arrested in Makurdi.
The post read, “At the North Bank Area, Makurdi, a man was caught with large bags containing lots of money. While trying to arrest him, officers of the Commission were attacked and vehicles vandalised. Information gathered confirms that the money belongs to Emmanuel Jimeh, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Benue state.”
Jimeh has not reacted to the report at the time of compiling this report.
