Former Nigerian leader Dr Goodluck Jonathan has told one his former aides to show respect to the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.
In 2015 presidential elections, Buhari of All Progressive Congress (APC) defeated Jonathan of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
It was the first time an incumbent ruling party would be defeated in the history of democracy in Nigeria.
Since Buhari assumed office, some of the allies of Jonathan have turned critics of the ruling party, some of them go beyond criticisms but abusing or being rude to Buhari.
One of them is Reno Omokri. He was a Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan, he was noted for using social media to conduct surveys and project the developments undertaken by the Nigerian Government.
Worried about how the office of the president is being denigrated, Jonathan called on Omokri to show some respect.
Omokri made this known why paying tribute to Jonathan for his humility on his verified Twitter account.
Omokri goes further urging President Buhari to emulate the former Nigerian leader by showing respect to Jonathan and other former Nigerian leader.
“I just don’t know how God created @GEJonathan. I have never met a man, whether Pastor, Imam or Pope, with as much humility as former President Jonathan. He called me and appealed to me to show more respect and kindness to @MBuhari. Would Buhari do that to him or Obj or IBB?”@renoomokri
The government of Buhari has been trying the past administration under Jonathan for corruption and money laundry activities.
Specifically, some of the properties of Patience Jonathan, wife of the former president, had been confiscated by Buhari’s anti-corruption war.
