She was born in year 1951 in Lagos State, South-West Nigeria. She rose from the scratch to become the group managing director of “The Rose of Sharon Group, a conglomerate of various ventures including The Rose of Sharon Prints & Promotions Limited.
Alakija is also the executive vice-chairman of Famfa Oil Limited, the firm in the sector that gives her the most money. This beautiful woman is a lover of God and she is highly educated.
She has been traveling from a young age. She got her primary school education at Dinorben School for Girls in the United Kingdom, before returning to Nigeria for her secondary school education (at Muslim High School in Ogun State).

Still with a huge interest in fashion, Folorunsho took the leap to start her own firm – Supreme Stitches, taking advantage of her tailoring skills.

Not being complacent, Folorunsho Alakija decided to go into the oil industry, and the step started when she applied for the allocation of an oil prospecting license (OPL) in 1993.

Folorunsho entered a partnership with Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Texaco) in 1996, via a joint venture agreement, and both began to work together, helping her to grow her wealth, that, in 2014, Forbes made her the 96th most powerful woman in the world.
