All the above three options are explained below.
Why the NPower Transition Programme Link may not appear on your NPVN portal
- It is strictly for N-Power batch one (2016).
- If you are N-Power 2017 you may see the option but you won’t be able to select as the option will not display on your NPVN portal
- If you have been delisted due to foul play at your PPA, you may not see the option in your portal. You may not even be able to access your portal. However, if you use the direct link you may be able to select the category you want, it may be invalid and may not count since you are no longer in the programme.
- You may not be able to see the option due to technical programmes. It’s less than 48 hours so there could be some technical glitch. In this case, please contact N-Power on social media.
- If N-Power deactivate the transition page then there is nothing you can do about it.
We come up with how to apply for Community Policing through the NPower Transition Programme in our upcoming post.

Start a Farm / Expand your Farm: This is for N-Power Agro and others who are interested in going to farming.
Become a Field / Data Agent: Just like those who worked for DataBeaver or Eyowo money agent the other time, through this option you can work as an Agent for a Bank, Research Agency or Consumer Goods company.
Become a Community Policeman: This is a new programme to secure our community as a result of the rising wave of insecurity across the country. You can join the Police force to secure and protect your community.
The essence of the transition
It is to help young Nigerians acquire and develop life-long skills to become solution providers in their communities.
To help improve the N-power program, and as such FG wants to know which of the sectors you are interested in.
What’s the best N-Power Transition Programme?
Since the transition page was activated, hundreds of beneficiaries have been asking us which of the available option is the best?
Well, it may be difficult to say, but from our own understanding, two of the options could be the best in terms of possible job security: Community Police and Teacher, will tell you WHY?
Don’t forget that the beauty of this is that volunteers are allowed to select multiple options, so you can select the two we considered as the best and add one more.
But let’s go through them one after the other.
SANEF means Shared Agent Network Expansion Facility. It is a programme strongly powered by the most influential financial players in Nigeria.
They include the Central Bank of Nigeria, Deposit Money Banks, Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Systems, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, licensed Mobile Money Operators and Shared Agents. The primary objective of SANEF is to accelerate financial inclusion among Nigerians.
It also aims to deepen financial inclusion in Nigeria through an integrated ecosystem with strong regulatory oversight, consumer protection and interoperable systems with limited concentration risk.
It is aimed at creating jobs while making building a very strong financial inclusion. As SANEF agent you’re simply a mobile money agent where others can perform basic financial services like account opening, cash deposits and withdrawals, funds transfer as well as bills payment (Dstv, GoTV, StarTimes, PHCN bills etc).
Think of SANEF agent as FirstMonie Agent, OPay mobile money agent and other mobile money services in Nigeria.
As a SANEF agent, you will be given N50, 000 as a start off capital. However, this doesn’t guarantee a permanent job, there may be a monitoring mechanism to gauge your performance as an agent.
You may receive more support, depending on how you’re able to grow your network as a SANEF agent.
GEEP means Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program, one of the cardinal areas under the Social Investment Programme (SIP).
This is closely related to the SANEF, the difference is that you will be granted an interest-free loan of N100, 000 to embark on the business of your choice, it doesn’t have to be mobile money agent.
This is supported by the Bank of Industry (BoI).
The beauty of this is that if you are able to pay the loan, you may have access to a higher loan. But, our fear about this is that what happens to this kind of loan after the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari?
There is no continuity in Nigeria, another government may come in and discard this kind of programme. Above all, if you are going for this option, we’ll advise make it your second option and not your main priority.
For the N-Power teach, this is the best option of them all, as the Federal Government will be talking to state government where there are vacancies. Meaning beneficiaries have chances of getting full and guaranty employment here.
Start a Farm:
It is also called expand your farm. This is most suitable for those in the agro-business. The FG may be trying to partner state governments and higher institution for allocation of land for farming.
This is already working in Kwara State where the University of Ilorin leased a large piece of land to N-Power Agro beneficiaries for farming in the state.
The benefit of this is that beneficiaries may have strong access to farm implements like tractor, fertilizer and other things that will aid their farming.
This is similar to the projects some N-Power volunteers undertook with Eyowo Mobile Money as agents in 2018.
The FG already has your data and make it available for those who selected this option, whenever there is a project to undertake, you’ll be contacted.
Data is very important to every company that wants to grow in the technological world we live in. You need data to favourably compete with rivals in your industry, as such data gathering agents are always needed.
This is great for those who already have their own job. You won’t be tied to a particular firm. You only work when there are projects. However, the working schedule will be between you and your hiring firm. FG is completely out of the picture.
Community Police Officer (CPO):
This is a brilliant idea of the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum Dr Kayode Fayemi and President Buhari welcomed it.
This is to improve security from the community. If all communities in Nigeria is secured, then Nigeria will be safe. That’s the idea.
It is possible that the Federal Government fully integrate the community policing into the Police Force while they keep their role as Community Police Officers (CPO). They will be called CPO.
They will receive training which is going to possibly be organised by the Nigeria Police Force in collaboration with other security apparatus in the country. If you’ve been dreaming of going the force, this is the best option for you.

Using your programme as a selection criteria
We can’t make that recommendation, however, if we’re to choose it will be in the following order putting into consideration your area of interest.
As N-Power Teach, we’ll choose category 1
As N-Agro, we’ll choose category 3
As N-Health: Unfortunately, there is no health-related option among the three categories. We hope that N-Power looks into this. In the meantime, we’ll choose Category 1 or category 3
Questions and Answers about N-Power Transition Programme
Below are some of the questions we received from the 2016 batch:
What is the salary structure for N-Power transition categories?
The salary structure may be in compliance with the Federal Government’s approved new minimum wage. However, the decision belongs to the sector where you are engaged.
In a situation whereby a state government agrees to employ you, it means your salary will be in compliance with the state’s salary structure.
Is it true that there something called N-Power transition?
Yes, it is what you knew as N-Power enhancement, it is now called transition, transition from N-Power to a more fulfilling career.
We’ll keep updating these questions. You can also drop your question if you have any and we will get unto them.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that the 2016 batch of volunteers will be disengaged by 2020
What happens to those who had early selected their npower transition programme, are they to reselect?
If you earlier made selection, your selection should be locked automatically.
This meaning the npower paths shouldn’t come up on your portal again. But a situation whereby the paths come up as fresh again (not locked), it means your previous selection has been rendered invalid.
The reason is simple: The technical team of npower is still working on the paths.
How to change choice on npower transition path?
Once a selection is made and validated by the technical unit, you can’t change your npower path again.
Why did npower transition survey icon go off again?
Probably, the N-SIP team is working on it again. Their could be plan to include more paths. You’re advised to be patient.
