Burna Boy mocks Treasury Office Fire Incident, PDP reacts

Nigerian singer and songwriter Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu aka Burna Boy has reacted to the fire that gutted the treasury office of the Accountant General of the Federation at the federal capital territory, Abuja Wednesday, April 8, 2020

A few minutes after 10AM, the fire outbreak started in the treasury office while firefighters were invited to put out the flames.

Reacting, Burna Boy berated Nigerian youths on Twitter that they put their energies in things that do not concern them apparently making reference to how Nigerians lashed out at Funke Akindele for organising house party to celebrate her husband’s party amidst coronavirus pandemic.

Funke, 42, and her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, 43, were sentenced to under 14-day community service for running foul of the social distancing rule.

Burna Boy jokingly, “Accountant General office don catch fire oooo. I don die…you see am?

“Dem don disturb funds, fire done catch, for everything wey dey happen for Nigeria, Nigerians deserve am.

“Because to say we the youths or you wey dey Twitter, dey use the same energy you use dey tweet NCDC make dem go arrest Funke Akindele, make you use the same energy to tackle your politicians,” he mocked the fire incidence.

Similarly, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for full-scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire incident that gutted the treasury office of the accountant general of the federation.

The position of the opposition party was made known through its National Publicity Kola Ologbondiyan.

“We demanded a probe of the subsidy payments since 2015 that @MBuhari  came into office and the next thing is fire guts Treasury House…. Fraud!” PDP says in a tweet

More reactions are trailing the fire incident.
