Led by the publishers of Sahara Reporters Omoyele Sowore, the protesters stormed the Force Headquarters and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

“Today we went to the airport to paint our message on the floor so everyone leaving and entering Abuja can see it,” a member of the protest @Hydra, tweeted.

Others who joined Sowore include, Deji Adeyanju, Raphael Adebayo and Sidney Usman.

There were attempts by some men of the Nigerian Air Force on guard to stop them from painting the road, the protesters stood their ground and later moved to the Force Headquarters to do the same.

Sowore tweeted in a video:

“#Endsars The military was deployed to try to intimidate us as protests resumed in Abuja international airport where #Endsars graffiti was painted at departure and arrivals, however, we made it clear that we won’t back down. No going back! #RevolutionNow.”

Sowore Has A Different Agenda

Meanwhile, some members of the public believe that Sowore, a former Presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC) has an agenda different from the #EndSars protest.

“Alaseju! Why start what you cannot finish we are still unravelling what happened at lekki toll and counting our losses. Use your head oga and let peace rain. This energy should be channelled to 2023 elections. A word is enough for the wise,” TuniSky tweeted.

Another user, Muhammad Ayo, said, “This isn’t an #EndsSARS protest, you’re doing this to propagate your own agenda.. follow Sowore at your own peril”

A few days after the 2019 elections, Sowore, a former student union leader had called for a revolution tagged #RevolutionNow to end the APC-led government of President Muhammadu Buhari. He was arrested and thrown into detention.

#EndSars protest took centre stage on October 3, 2020, to end police brutality, end impunity by the political class and end poor governance. It was hijacked by hoodlums, leading to loss of lives and properties across the country.

The pro-democracy campaigner vowed to continue with protest, though President Buhari had invited youth to the table for discussion and admonished them to end their protest.
