Heavily armed thugs have reportedly taken over Gama Ward in Nasarawa Local Goverment Area of Kano State.
InfomediaNG gathered that the thugs were armed with sticks, clubs and machetes patrolling the newly tarred road in the area.
Earlier today, we reported how one of the agents of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) was attacked with machete.
A few minutes after the attack, the miscreants, some of whom were smoking substances suspected to be Indian hemp, forced vehicles belongings to the media and observers off the road.
Already, Ted Odogwu, a reporter with The Punch, has reportedly been attacked. He escaped with injuries while others scampered for safety when suspected thugs had a clash.
Journalists who attempted to take shots were also attacked. One of the victims is Jerry Nmeribeh of Authority Newspaper for attempting to take photographs.
Armed policemen and men of Civil Defence and those of the Department of State Services were seen trying to control a surging crowd of voters heading towards a polling area located at Gama Primary School.
Safety has been restored in the area at the time of compiling this report.
