There was no immediate indication of the cause but the city has been repeatedly attacked by Boko Haram Islamists, and the deadly group has intensified its attack in the five months.

In a related development, a resident of Maiduguri has given details of the 2019 election alleged multiple explosions, saying his area was peaceful, saying Nigerian Troops were on top of the situation.

Neither INEC, nor security agencies have reacted at the time of compiling this report. Recalled that Nigeria’s electoral body vowed last week that it will not be deterred by attacks in the North East.
